A day will come when we will look back and see that during those times when we were weak and our hearts were full of sorrow, that Yahweh carried us on eagle’s wings. If we would but rest in him we might know the supreme joy of such flight even in the midst of great trial. This is not the joy that bubbles up in laughter, but the joy that wells deep in our souls and brings a glimmer of hope. Hope is like faith, based on real evidence and sure as if the thing sought has already been realized.

This joy we can hang onto, this hope, this faith, because the One who gives it is our Savior, Yahweh, Jesus. He is the Creator who has given us all good things as well as a hope and a future, an eternity free of sorrow and pain. In this world we will have trouble, but take heart, he has overcome the world.
