Warriors it is time to grow in our salvation and training by soaking ourselves in the water of the Sacred Writings and ridding ourselves of everything that divides—depravity, deceit, insincerity, pretense, hypocrisy, grudges, envy, jealousy, slander and speaking evil about one another. These things are not becoming of our people and belong to our enemy. Do not be enticed by his lying tongue.

We are living stones! Let grace abound so that we can be built into a spiritual house for a holy, consecrated priesthood. Let us build one another up and encourage one another in the gifts Creator Yahweh has given us. For we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, purchased with Jesus Yeshua’s blood and called out of darkness into his glorious light.

Warriors be alert! Prepare your hearts and minds for action. The enemy attacks in many different ways. Do not allow yourself to be dragged back into those evil desires in which you used to walk. Those things have pleasure for a short time, but you are smarter than that now. Stop living for an emotional fix. Instead, fix your mind on Creator Yahweh and his son Jesus Yeshua and do not conform any longer to the ways of the world.

We used to walk in those ways, but now we live as strangers in this world. We have been redeemed from the empty way of life whose desires are never satisfied. We have been purchased with the blood of Jesus Yeshua.

In this life journey we must pay careful attention to maintaining a deep consciousness of Creator Yahweh. Speak his name when you rise in the morning, think of him often as you travel through the day, and breathe in the sweet scent of him when you lie on your beds at night. Remember to speak of the good things he has done and set your hearts on his promises. By doing so you will not return to the empty life you once lived and you will continue to walk in Beauty.

Creator Yahweh does not train his warriors in tents of ease and luxury. Do not be surprised if you find yourself crawling through muddy paths or across long desert trails that stretch far into the distance. Stark mountain paths are often the place of great testing, and deep waters reveal deeper faith.

Do not look at these trials as though something strange is happening to you. It is an honor to be counted worthy of testing by our Great Chief and Captain. He has an inheritance waiting for you. You have been given a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Yeshua from the dead.

This inheritance is a sure thing. Do not shrink from the fires that will refine your faith and give great honor to our Great Chief and Captain, the Lover of our souls.

Look up warriors! Your redemption is drawing near. Whether it arrives in one hour or one year or a lifetime, it will not be a day late. Your eyes will see the Great Chief in his beauty and view a land that stretches far into the distance. The former terror will be nothing but a memory lost in the past. You will ask yourself, “Where is that chief officer? Where is the one who took our treasures? Where are the ones who counted the number of our people?”

You will see these arrogant people no more, those people of an obscure speech, with their strange, incomprehensible language. Your eyes will behold Creator’s city, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken. There, Creator Yahweh will be our Mighty Chief. It will be like a place of broad flowing rivers and streams. This is the city of our Great Chief and Captain, the place where many tongues and nations will dwell together in perfect unity, each person a celebration of the work of Creator Yahweh’s hands.

Creator Yahweh is our Great Chief; wait patiently for him; it is he who will save us.

Warriors, do not neglect the Sacred Writings for they contain life for your soul! The Bible is Creator Yahweh’s living words to you personally. It is also good for direction, correction, and protection and much more. It is the bow with which we send our flaming arrows into the enemy’s heart. Remember that no spiritual battle is won without it.

Hide Creator Yahweh’s words in your heart. Memorize them and have them ready as a weapon when the enemy attacks. Speak of them to your friends and cousins and children. Whisper them while walking sacred paths through wild lands. Rejoice in the hope they offer you. Dive into the water of them and come out clean and refreshed. Let them be your guide and compass. In so doing, you will gain the strength and courage needed to continue walking in Beauty.

Who is like Creator Yahweh? His voice thunders and the people flee. When he rises, the nations scatter. Who of us can dwell with such a consuming fire?  Except for his great love poured out through Jesus Yeshua on the cross, we would be like cut thorn bushes quickly set ablaze. There is no goodness that we can give him, no righteousness from our own storehouses, no treasure that he does not already own.

With a great shout, let our voices cry out to Creator Yahweh. “Great Chief and Captain be gracious to us! We long for you like a dry and thirsty land longs for water. Be our strength every morning, our hope at noonday, our salvation in time of distress.”

Before a word is on our tongues, Creator Yahweh knows it completely. Deliverance is already on its way.

Yesterday we talked about the need for rest. In “Streams in the Desert,” John Ruskin talks about the music of heaven and how our lives are a part of Creator Yahweh’s song. He calls it the melody of our life and explains that the music is separated here and there by rests. “During those rests,” Ruskin says, “we foolishly believe we have come to the end of the song.” Creator Yahweh often forces these times of rest through sickness, disappointed plans, and frustrated efforts.

Perhaps it’s because of being Native American, but I truly grieve when the drum beat of heaven falls silent, especially when it is a sudden and unexpected pause. Yet how my heart sings when the silence is broken at just the right time by a skillful flute player. It is then I am assured that the rest is part of the making of the music. The pause sets everything in place for the next note.

In times like these it is good to remember that Creator Yahweh does not write the music of our lives without a plan, and times of rest are part of that wondrous plan.”

Warriors, have you heard Creator Yahweh’s voice saying, “This is the way, walk in it”?

Do not take a step to the right or the left until you recognize his voice leading the way. Do not rely on horses; do not trust in bow and arrow. Trust only in Creator Yahweh.

Our Great Chief will one day reign in righteousness! Each man and woman will be like a shelter form the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. At that time, the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. The mind of the rash will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear.

Listen for his voice. It will be like music to your longing ears.

Warriors, are you still uncertain of which way to turn? Cry out to Creator Yahweh! Remain in his presence until you either receive a clear yes or a sure refusal.

To do this, you must climb the Sacred Mountain, whether physical or spiritual, and tune out any outside influence. Stay in your sacred place until Creator Yahweh’s peace fills your every longing. Although you may eat the bread of adversity and drink the water of affliction, the time will come and not a day too late, when you will see your teachers with your own eyes. Wait for that time and you will receive the Spirit gift that will keep you walking in Beauty.

Warriors, this trouble you’re going through may cause doubt and confusion to come into your life. The road of faith most often conflicts with caution and often leads through dangerous passes. Well-meaning friends may encourage you to take the safe way when Creator Yahweh is leading you to something greater than what you or your friends can imagine.

At times like these it is important to quiet all the voices and sit in sacred stillness until you are aware of Creator Yahweh’s presence. Search the Sacred Writings for guidance and focus on the One who knows every part of you. In this place of repentance and rest, you will find salvation, in quietness and trust, you will find courage and strength.
